Storm damage clean up continues

Repair works continue on more than 60 damaged Mitchell Shire Council-managed roads in towns stretching from Kilmore through to Seymour following a significant storm event on Saturday 4 April.

Council staff and contractors have been busy inspecting the roads to ensure the safety of all drivers across the roads network.

A number of potholes and drop-offs have been repaired as part of the make safe works in the immediate aftermath of the storm.

Alongside the roads, about 100 culverts and 60 drains will be repaired over the coming weeks, with all works expected to be completed by July.

Council staff will continue to conduct regular inspections on affected roads until such time as the works are complete.

Council is eligible to be reimbursed through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements administered by Emergency Management Victoria, Department of Justice and Community Safety.
