Stratton Armed Robbery Arrest

Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged a man following two armed robbery incidents in Stratton.

The first incident occurred around 7:30pm on Sunday (25 April 2021) at a supermarket on O'Connor Road. It is alleged that a man approached an attendant at a checkout and demanded cash while armed with a firearm. He obtained a quantity then fled the store.

The second incident occurred around 10:10pm on Monday (26 April 2021) at a petrol station on Farrall Road. It is alleged a man entered the store and threatened a staff member with a firearm while demanding cash. During this time the man discharged a blank round towards the wall, before fleeing the store.

Later that evening Regional Investigations Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Response Group, Canine Unit, Midland Detectives and Kiara Police attended a home in Cockman Cross, Stratton. A 34-year-old man was taken into custody and has since been charged with:

- Armed Robbery

- Attempted Armed Robbery

He will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, 27 April 2021.
