Strike Force Charges Three More Teens in Car Theft

Strike Force Sweetenham officers have charged three more teens for their alleged roles in the organised theft of cars across Sydney.

In June 2025, Strike Force Sweetenham commenced an investigation into the organised theft of motor vehicles across the Sydney area by young people.

Between yesterday (Wednesday 6 August 2025) and today (Thursday 7 August 2025), strike force investigators executed ten search warrants across the Prestons, Panania, Minto, Glenfield, Revesby, Lurnea, Hinchinbrook, Ingleburn, Fairfield and Liverpool areas.

During the searches, strike force officers located and seized cash, a firearm (gel blaster), a tracker and numerous mobile phones.

Following the search warrants four teens were arrested, charged and remain before the courts.

Today, an 18-year-old man was arrested at an address in Badgerys Creek and a 16-year-old boy was arrested at an address in Hinchinbrook. They were both taken to Liverpool Police Station.

A 15-year-old boy was also arrested at an address in Fairfield and taken to Fairfield Police Station.

The 18 year old was charged with participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence (three counts), steal motor vehicle (four counts), enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence (two counts), and dispose motor vehicle part theft serious indictable offence more than $5,000.

The 16 year old was charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence (three counts), steal motor vehicle (four counts), dispose motor vehicle part theft serious indictable offence more than $5,000 and enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence.

The 15 year old was charged with participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence (three counts), steal motor vehicle (four counts), enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence and breach of bail.

All three were refused bail, with the man appearing before Liverpool Local Court and the two boys appearing before a children's court today.

Investigations under Strike Force Sweetenham continue.
