Strike Force Raptor have charged a man, who purports to be a member of an outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG), over alleged traffic and larceny offences in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.
Last month, the Criminal Groups Squad's Strike Force Raptor commenced an investigation after receiving reports from NSW Fair Trading of a man allegedly committed fraud and intimidation offences, including alleged threats of violence from members of an OMCG, in the construction industry.
Following inquiries, it will be alleged the man had stolen items from a hardware store on Rodeo Road, Gregory Hills, in Sydney's south-west.
About 10.45pm on Wednesday 10 October 2018, Strike Force Raptor attended a unit complex in Fowler Street, Hamilton South.
A 48-year-old man, who purports to be a member of an OMCG, was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station.
The man was charged with 15 counts of drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, and two counts of larceny.
Police will allege the man drove his utility through several suburbs in Sydney’s south-west, including Gregory Hills, Denham Court, and Edmondson Park, despite being disqualified from driving until 2039.
The man was refused bail and appeared at Newcastle Local Court yesterday (Thursday 11 October 2018), where he was refused bail to appear before the same court on Thursday 18 October 2018.
Investigations are continuing.
