Strike Force Vulcan officers have charged a 29-year-old man after a fire in Rockingham on Friday, 5 January 2024.
It is alleged about 4am, the man walked into bushland near Val Street and The Esplanade on the Rockingham Foreshore when he set vegetation alight before running from the area.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services attended and extinguished the fire before it spread.
Strike Force Vulcan officers with the assistance of Rockingham Police and the Rockingham Shire, were able to locate and identify the accused.
A 29-year-old man from Rockingham has been charged with:
• Breach of Duty
He is next due to appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court on 23 February 2024.
