Strike Force Vulcan arrest - Mirrabooka fire

Strike Force Vulcan detectives have charged a woman in relation to a fire in Mirrabooka on 8 January 2020.

It is alleged about 9.55am, the woman ignited a fire in bush area that surrounds the Mirrabooka Bus Station situated on Sudbury Road, Mirrabooka.

The fire quickly spread and burnt an area approximately five square metres in close proximity to a car park, foot path and bus terminals before being extinguished by Department of Fire and Emergency Services.

The 42-year-old woman from Warwick has been charged with:-

• Breach of Duty of Person in Control of Ignition Source or Fire.

The maximum penalty for this offence is 15 years imprisonment. The woman is next due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 25 February 2020.
