Entries are now open for Council's Pollution Solution competition, which invites local students to share ideas on how to recycle more and send less household waste to landfill.
Students who live in and/or go to school in Hobsons Bay are encouraged to take part in the competition and submit their entry, either as part of a class project or as an individual, until the competition closes on Wednesday 25 November at 6pm.
Coinciding with National Recycling Week in November, the Pollution Solution was developed in partnership with local students and members of Junior Council who gave the competition its name. The Pollution Solution competition aims to encourage students to think about resources, waste and recycling, and to celebrate the everyday actions that make a positive difference to our environment.
To submit your Pollution Solution idea that helps your household to recycle, re-use and/or reduce rubbish, follow these easy steps to enter:
- Think about how your household is helping to recycle and reduce rubbish. This will help you to find your concept!
- Record what you do and send it to Council. All forms of entries can be submitted, including but not limited to, photographs of your home set-up, videos of your waste-free practises, sculptures or even documentation of something you have fixed.
- Upload a digital copy of your entry here www.hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au/enter-PollutionSolution and be sure to include what grade of school you are currently in (but you don't need to write this on your artwork).
- Entries that meet the criteria will be displayed on Council's website. Congratulations! You are now in the running to win a great prize.
Winning prizes include a tour/workshop at Ceres Community Environment Park, vouchers and more.
