Supporting community programs with Grants

We are ready again to support Bayside's community groups helping to create healthy and thriving communities.

Council's Annual Community Grants Program 2022 is opening soon to assist not for profit community groups and organisations to establish, extend or improve programs and services that address local needs and strengthen and enrich community life.

Your community group or organisation could be eligible to receive up to $7,500 for innovative projects that meet the objectives of Council's Health and Wellbeing Plan. This could include upskilling your volunteers, helping your programs to reach new audiences, or meeting an emerging need in your community such as encouraging women in sport, addressing food insecurity, the climate emergency or the impacts of COVID-19.

For example, last year Family Life received a grant to provide Active Bystander Training for Volunteers, while Bayside Toy Library's Zero Waste Party Packs were funded to enable Bayside families to organise children parties in a sustainable and affordable way. Hampton Community Centre was funded to provide art, music and physical activities aimed at building intergenerational links within the community and addressing social isolation.

To help Bayside groups with their applications we have organised two information sessions and two Effective Grant-writing Workshops.

Effective Grant-writing workshops

These fun and hands-on workshops will focus on transforming your ideas into fundable concepts and will walk you step by step through the process including where to find the money, writing a killer 50-word grab, working with partners, building a budget and answering the 'sustainability' and 'evaluation' questions.
