Supporting Innovation with New Specialized Equipment at Johnson Enterprises Inc.

December 18, 2018 – Val D'amour, NB – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency

Supporting businesses in rural communities, helps create opportunities for business growth and well-paying jobs for the middle-class and those looking to join it. Thanks to support from the Government of Canada, Johnson Enterprises Inc. will purchase innovative equipment that will allow the company to improve efficiency, reduce costs and continue to grow and provide jobs in the community of Val D'Amour and the surrounding region.

René Arseneault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), joined company officials to announce this support today.

Johnson Enterprises services industries including aerospace, defence, shipyards and forestry. The Government of Canada, through ACOA's Business Development Program (BDP), is providing the company with a repayable contribution of $100,000 to acquire highly specialized computer numerical controlled equipment. The new metal transformation equipment will help improve productivity and efficiencies at the facility.

This investment builds on the federal and provincial governments' Atlantic Growth Strategy designed to help Atlantic Canadian entrepreneurs compete internationally, grow their businesses and create jobs at home.
