Liberal Party Victoria

Victorians in need will continue to receive the critical community services they deserve under a new commitment announced today by the Victorian Liberals and Nationals.

ADRA Community Care Croydon delivers a wide range of critical supports for vulnerable and socially isolated members of the community, including a successful food program – Vive Café.

Each Thursday, Vive Café serves approximately 100 free, healthy three course meals to anyone in need from across Melbourne.

Furthermore, Vive Café provides 3,500 food hampers to families in need each year, provides education on nutrition and makes referrals to associated support services.

To ensure ADRA Community Care can continue their outstanding work, a Matthew Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will provide $25,000 to help fund operations.

Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy said this important investment would help local communities continue to recover and rebuild.

"Backing those who back their communities are the best way to recover, rebuild and move forward."

"Organisations like ADRA Community Care do so much for others and deserve this important support so they can continue their outstanding work."

Member for Croydon, David Hodgett said this funding was critical to ensuring this outstanding community service could continue to support others.

"Vive Café has always been there for people needing a hand, particularly over the last two years."

"The Victorian Liberals and Nationals support those who support others, and this grant will go a long way to ensuring the outstanding work of ADRA Community Care continues."
