Students and families in Ashwood and surrounding communities are set to benefit under a Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government with today's announcement of $5 million to refurbish Parkhill Primary School.
The Liberals and Nationals' commitment will allow for a complete refurbishment package, including upgrades for:
- New playgrounds with shade sails;
- Completion of the school hall fit out;
- New kitchen and catering facilities;
- Sportsground repair;
- A new car park;
- Landscaping, lighting and fencing improvements;
- A community led masterplan process to guide the school's transformation.
Shadow Minister for Education, David Hodgett, said this commitment would allow for Parkhill Primary School to keep up with the growing population in the area.
"This significant investment will deliver better facilities for current and future students and the Parkhill Primary School community," Mr Hodgett said.
"Our children deserve the best start in life and that includes making sure students have access to modern, world-class facilities and only the Liberals and Nationals will provide that."
Liberal Candidate for Ashwood, Asher Judah, said upgrading Parkhill Primary School will secure its future by ensuring it remains a quality education option for families in the east.
