Supports available for community

Jeremy Rockliff, Premier

The Tasmanian Government recognises the release of the Report of the Commission of Inquiry into the Tasmanian Government's Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in Institutional Settings may evoke strong emotions, questions, and concerns for many people in our community.

Tasmanians are welcome to attend the tabling of the Commission of Inquiry Report at Parliament House in Hobart. The report will be tabled at 11.30am on Tuesday.

Doors will be open from 10.30am and there will be dedicated seating available for victim-survivors. Seating in the public gallery is limited, however, the Long Room will also be open and will show a livestream of proceedings.

When the Report is released, counsellors from Lifeline Tasmania, the Sexual Assault Support Service, Laurel House and Relationships Australia Tasmania will be at Parliament House to provide support.

The Government has also ensured a range of support services are available to the broader Tasmanian community.

Additional resources have been provided to local support services over the course of the Commission of Inquiry, with the Tasmanian Government investing an additional $1.5 million in these services ahead of the tabling and public release of the Report.
