Suspicious approach at Melville

Fremantle Detectives are investigating a report of a man in a vehicle acting suspiciously in the Melville area, yesterday, Tuesday 9 March 2021.

The incident occurred about 4.30pm, when a 10-year-old boy was riding his bicycle along Redwood Crescent near the intersection of Luffingham Street, adjacent to the Anthony Dodd Reserve when a man in a small silver hatchback stopped in front of him on the bike path.

The driver attempted to engage the boy in conversation. The boy felt threatened but managed to ride away.

The man is described as being in his 50s, tanned skin, and black curly hair. He was wearing a light coloured checked long sleeved flannel shirt.

Detectives are asking the man, or anyone who saw him or the vehicle, and anyone with CCTV or dash-cam vision of the above area around 4.30pm, to come forward.
