Swan Bay fatal collision update

Major Collision Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision which occurred in Swan Bay this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Swan Bay and Queenscliff roads about 1.20pm after reports of a collision involving three vehicles.

It is believed a car was travelling south on Queenscliff Road when it was struck by an eastbound car on Swan Bay Road.

A northbound car on Queenscliff Road was then struck and rolled on to its roof.

A 35-year-old Queenscliff woman, who was the driver of the southbound car died at the scene.

Three occupants of the other two vehicles were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the eastbound car, a 64-year-old Geelong man, has been interviewed by police and charged with dangerous drive cause death.

He has been bailed to appear at Geelong Magistrates' Court on Monday 21 March.
