Swan Hill Regional Library is excited to announce its annual Roving Storytime will be running as part of Children's week on Wednesday, 22 October, starting at 10am.
Libraries Manager, Camille Cullinan said this beloved annual community event invites children and their families to explore Swan Hill's main street while enjoying engaging stories and interactive activities.
"During our Roving Storytime, participants will embark on a delightful walk through the heart of Swan Hill, visiting local landmarks such as the pet shop, cenotaph, post office, and bank.
"Children will be treated to a mix of storytelling and singing, featuring popular tunes like "Miss Polly Had a Dolly," "The Grand Old Duke of York," and "This is the Way We Save Our Money," Ms Cullinan said.
Ms Cullinan said as an extra bonus, before children set-off, team members from Swan Hill Health Promotions will engage the children in a lively story about healthy eating, dressed as fun, colourful fruits and vegetables.
"As the adventure continues, the group will join Noah's Ark at the Community Tree for a variety of fun activities and another storytime session," she added.
Ms Cullinan said the walk would conclude with an exciting and educational introduction to our local emergency services - Police, CFA and Ambulance Victoria - taking place in the park behind the clock tower.
"This informative session often includes interactive demonstrations and, at times, a bit of noise!
"Participants will also enjoy picnic bags prepared by students from Swan Hill College's FLO Campus, providing a light luncheon, while the Swan Hill Toy Library will offer a range of toys for the children to enjoy in the park," she said.
Ms Cullinan encourages the community to get involved and join this fun-filled, educational experience that celebrates the joy of reading and community engagement!
