Sweet smell of success as baker moves to Meridian Park

  • McGowan Government invests in modern industrial estates to drive economic growth and jobs
  • Local business chooses fully serviced lots at Meridian Park for expansion plans
  • Neerabup Industrial Area to provide up to 20,000 direct and indirect jobs
  • Meridian Park industrial estate will host the next stage of significant growth for one of Western Australia's most successful manufacturers.

Commercial baker Great Temptations is set to triple its production facilities, securing a 3,367sqm lot at the modern industrial estate.

The business is one of many taking advantage of the range of quality Industrial Lands Authority estates available to stimulate and support WA's economic development.

Situated within the Neerabup Industrial Area, Meridian Park comprises 400 hectares and is ideally located to meet the business needs of Perth's fast-growing north-west corridor for the next 30 to 50 years.

The estate's proximity to the northern corridor growth areas has also contributed to its success, providing increased local employment options for local residents.

250 people are currently employed across the businesses operating in Meridian Park, contributing to the expected 20,000 jobs to be provided within the greater Neerabup Industrial Area upon completion.

Great Temptations' new site is triple the size of its current premises at Wangara, enabling the continued growth of its local operations and export business.

Most importantly it will allow them to increase their workforce.

The company supplies quality baked goods to a range of Australian outlets including independent supermarkets, and major customers in the supermarket and convenience sector. It also distributes its products to international customers in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Great Temptations' new facility will see an increase in its workforce once it operates from the new site.

As stated by Lands Minister Ben Wyatt:

"LandCorp's Industrial Lands Authority has an important role to play in ensuring there is easy access to quality industrial land opportunities for local, national and international businesses.

"The McGowan Government is continuing to invest in supporting jobs growth for all Western Australians and giving people the opportunity to live close to where they work.

"Meridian Park, as part of the Neerabup Industrial Area, has the potential to be a major employment hub for residents in our city's northern suburbs.

"Supporting unique and innovative WA-owned and operated businesses, like Great Temptations, helps create jobs in our suburbs and economic prosperity.

"This month marks one year since the formation of the ILA - a McGowan Government election commitment to better co-ordinate the planning and delivery of industrial land to drive jobs and growth in WA.

"In its first year of operation, the ILA has been responsible for unlocking 393 hectares of land for development and the sale or lease of 120 hectares of land.

"This will see direct investment of more than $3.8 billion and the creation of more than 6,100 construction jobs and more than 11,000 operational jobs."
