Swimmer found at Balmoral

A swimmer who was reported missing from Balmoral Beach on Sydney's Lower North Shore, has been found safe and well today.

About 5pm yesterday (Monday 27 April 2020), a man was seen to enter the water at the northern end of Balmoral, near Carroll's Lookout, and swim away from the beach.

About 6.30pm, the man's clothing was located still on the beach and police were notified.

Officers from North Shore Police Area Command attended and with the assistance of the Marine Area Command and PolAir, conducted an extensive land and water search for the man.

A co-ordinated search resumed about 8am this morning (Tuesday 28 April 2020).

About 10.30am, a man approached officers at the beach, and identified himself as the missing swimmer.

Police would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance.
