The Minns Labor Government is inviting football fans to come together and cheer on the Socceroos for free, with two massive live sites set to transform Darling Harbour and Sydney Olympic Park into live fan zones during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Every Socceroos match will be broadcast live on giant screens at Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour and Cathy Freeman Park at Sydney Olympic Park.
Families, friends and football fanatics have the chance to experience every goal, save, and nail-biting moment together in an electric atmosphere completely free of charge.
Tumbalong Park will continue screening matches right through to the quarter finals, semi-finals and grand final, while Sydney Olympic Park will host finals screenings if Australia progresses beyond the group stage.
From the city waterfront to the heart of Western Sydney, the live sites will showcase Sydney at its best: vibrant, energetic and packed with fans backing the green and gold on the world stage.
At Darling Harbour, fans can enjoy the buzzing waterfront atmosphere, grab dinner or drinks from nearby restaurants and bars, then settle in under the stars at Tumbalong Park for the matches.
In Western Sydney, Cathy Freeman Park will become a festival of football, with fans encouraged to bring a picnic rug, enjoy local food trucks and eateries, and soak up the atmosphere alongside thousands of supporters.
No tickets or registrations are required at the sites, just turn up and join the crowd.
The live sites are part of the Minns Labor Government's commitment to delivering free, family-friendly events and building a more vibrant Sydney.
Recent reforms have cut red tape around live entertainment, dining and events while lifting event caps to help bring more world-class experiences to public spaces across the city.
Darling Harbour continues to thrive as one of Australia's premier public destinations, attracting more than 26 million visitors over the past 12 months.
Recent investments in the precinct include a new sound shell at Tumbalong Park, upgrades to the Chinese Garden of Friendship and a new playground for older children.
Meanwhile, Sydney Olympic Park continues to cement its reputation as one of the nation's great sporting and entertainment precincts, hosting major international events, elite sport and concerts that draw crowds from across NSW and beyond.
Together, Placemaking NSW and Sydney Olympic Park Authority will help turn Sydney into one giant football celebration during the world's biggest sporting tournament.
