The Cook Government's fee-free and low-fee TAFE campaign, You Can Make It Here, has ignited interest in the exciting job and career opportunities available by studying at TAFE colleges across Western Australia.
There have been nearly 42,000 views of the refreshed TAFE WA website, with high traffic to pages showcasing in-demand industries including advanced manufacturing, building and construction, clean energy, and essential care services.
Preliminary data shows about 19,000 applications have been submitted through the TAFE Admissions system to study at TAFE colleges full time in Semester 1 2026.
Applications from Year 12 students are up 17 per cent, to 3,056, highlighting the success of Cook Government initiatives aimed at promoting practical career pathways for school leavers and celebrating TAFE's role in delivering the skills required for quality jobs.
Launched on 13 October, the campaign promotes low-fee and fee-free TAFE qualifications and their direct connection to job opportunities available in WA's growing and diversified economy.
Fee-free TAFE is jointly funded by the Albanese Labor Government and the Cook Labor Government.
Backed by the State Government's investment in VET Delivered to Secondary Schools and the award-winning Year 9 Career Taster Program (CTP), the campaign has played a pivotal role in encouraging students to consider practical, hands-on careers.
With more than $250 million invested in new training infrastructure, more than $50 million in equipment across WA's five TAFE colleges, and booming demand in industries including clean energy, defence, aged care, and construction, it is a great time to study at TAFE.
Western Australians still have time to apply. Competitive course applications close on 14 November 2025, with offers released on 3 December 2025. All other applications remain open until 6 February 2026.

"The Cook Labor Government is celebrating and promoting the TAFE system the Liberals wanted to destroy.
"We are investing at record levels - funding fee-free and low-fee courses, revitalising campuses and rejuvenating training centres to deliver job-ready graduates.
"With 140 TAFE courses fee-free, and fees slashed for another 160, education and training is accessible and affordable.
"The success of our You Can Make It Here campaign shows Western Australians know TAFE is the pathway to exciting careers and well-paid jobs."
