Taming Stress in Adolescence by Maggie Dent - A Free Seminar in Lennox Head

One of Australia's favourite parenting authors and educators, Maggie Dent, will speak at a free seminar on Tuesday 12 July 2022 at the Lennox Head Cultural Centre, on what is impacting our youth in today's world and how we can support them on their bumpy ride to adulthood.

"We are thrilled to secure Maggie for the second seminar, following Dr Justin Coulson this week. Maggie has a background in teaching and counselling and has worked in suicide prevention. We are hoping to see more parents, teachers and youth mentors at this event, along with teenagers aged 14 and over," said Sam Stewart, CEO Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association.

"Having lived in the Northern Rivers, it holds a special place in my heart. I really wanted to offer some free events to support local parents, carers and teachers, particularly after all that families have gone through," said Maggie Dent.

"I hope through this event I can offer people a chance to access some simple, practical knowledge and strategies to help develop resilience and restore hope for young people.

"When we give our young people a greater understanding of how their brains work and how they change in adolescence, we can show them ways to better navigate stress and protect themselves against mental health challenges."

This event has been made possible thanks to like-minded individuals, charities and health organisation's working together such as The Healthy Minds Club, The Boaty Boys, Le-Ba and The Ball and All to create awareness and bring the community together to provide better outcomes for our youth.

Space is limited, please reserve your place via communityspaces.com.au/tickets

Maggie is also presenting at an earlier event, 'Time to Recover', for families of younger children and the people who work with them in Lismore from 1.30-3.30pm on Tuesday 12th July. Details of both events can be found at maggiedent.com/events
