- WA excels with 23 medals at the WorldSkills National Championships
- A total of nine gold, eight silver and six bronze medals won by TeamWA
- Highlights the strength of WA's vocational education and training (VET) sector
- Western Australia was represented by 74 competitors
Western Australia's top vocational talents have returned home after showcasing their skills on the national stage at the WorldSkills Australia 2025 National Championships & Skills Show in Brisbane.
The competition, held from June 12-14, saw Western Australian competitors go head-to-head with the best in the country, demonstrating excellence across a range of industries.
WA's representatives delivered outstanding performances, bringing home a strong medal haul and reinforcing the State's reputation for vocational training excellence.
Among the standout achievers were gold medallists in 3D Digital Game Art, Construction Steel Work, Fitting, Motorcycle Mechanics and Signs and Graphics along with several silver and bronze winners across various trades.

- Riley Gibson - VETiS Bricklaying - Dalyellup College
- Paulyn Kyle Valdepena - VETiS Food and Beverage - Harvey Senior High School
- Kayla Vanos - VETiS Tourism - Ellenbrook Secondary College
- Manuel Payag - VETiS Wall and Floor Tiling - Girrawheen Senior High School
On top of the 23 medallists - nine gold, eight silver and six bronze medals - won by TeamWA, a further 17 team members were awarded Certificates of Excellence, recognising outstanding performances in their competition skills.
The WorldSkills National Championships are held every two years, showcasing the very best of Australian skills excellence and career pathways.
TeamWA had a total of 74 members - 44 open competitors and 30 VET in Schools (VETiS) competitors, highlighting a bright future for WA's VET sector.
Many of these competitors are now eyeing international opportunities, with some set to represent the country as part of the 2026 Team Australia Skillaroos, to compete at the international WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai in 2026.
At the National Championships, Western Australia was announced to host the 2026 Australian Skills Excellence Forum in partnership with WorldSkills Australia, an event where selected participants from the national competition can continue their skills journey through workshops held over two days.
