Teenager driver nabbed for 130km/h in 50 zone

A teenage 'P" plate driver will face court after he was detected driving at a speed 80km/h above the speed limit last night at St Agnes.

Just before 9pm on on Thursday 3 September, a blue Holden utility activated a traffic safety camera on North East Road travelling at 130km/h in a 50km/h zone.

Police patrols were notified, attending a Golden Grove address locating the ute and an 18-year-old man who admitted to driving the vehicle.

The teenager was reported for driving at a speed dangerous to the public and breaching his probationary licence conditions. His ute was impounded for 28 days and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a date to be set.
