Two teenage boys have been charged over an alleged armed robbery at a business on the state's Central Coast yesterday.
Just after 4.45am (Wednesday 25 March 2026), police were called to a business on The Entrance Road, Long Jetty, following reports of an armed robbery.
Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police district were told two unknown people entered the premises, where one allegedly threatened a female staff member with an axe and pushed her to the ground.
The pair allegedly stole cash, a handbag, a wallet and three mobile phone devices before leaving the scene.
Two women – aged 61 and 59 – were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to a hospital for further assessment.
A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, about 6.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 25 March 2026), detectives, with the assistance of PolAir and Dog Squad, executed two simultaneous search warrants at two separate locations in Tumbi Umbi, where they arrested two boys – aged 17 and 16.
During the search warrant, police allegedly located and seized an amount of cannabis, bags of MDMA, clothes, bank cards, and clothes to be forensically examined.
They were taken to Wyong Police Station where the older boy was charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – armed, robbery in company, possess prohibited drug.
The second boy was charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence- armed, assault with intent to rob armed with offensive weapon and possess prohibited drug.
They were both refused bail to appear at a Children's Court today (Thursday 26 March 2026).
