Teens Charged in Ongoing Scooter Robbery Probe

Two teenagers have been charged as police continue to target the alleged theft of mopeds in Sydney's north west, under Operation Enduro.

In November 2025, Operation Enduro was established by North West Metropolitan Region in response to the escalation of moped, scooter and motorcycle thefts, as well serious crimes including armed robberies.

The operation has involved officers attached to General Duties, Strike Force Sweetenham, Operations Support Group, Traffic and Highway Patrol, Proactive Crime Teams, Region Enforcement Squad and specialist police including Polair.

In total 41 people have been arrested for over 82 offences, 7 crime scene and search warrants have been executed and 29 vehicles seized under Operation Enduro.

Incidents of note from yesterday (Tuesday 31 December):

Incident 1:

In December 2025, police commenced investigations following reports of the alleged armed robberies of multiple people at shopping centres and a bus stop in Dharruk, Emerton, Rooty Hill, Hebersham and Oakhurst, between Friday 26 December 2025 and Monday 29 December 2025.

Police will allege a 14-year-old boy armed with a knife committed the robberies before leaving on a stolen moped.

About 11am yesterday (Tuesday 30 December 2025), investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Whalan.

During the search of the premises, police allegedly located and seized a moped and numerous items believe to be linked to the robberies.

The 14-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station, where he allegedly spat at officers.

He was charged with five counts of robbery armed with offensive weapon, two counts of larceny, aggravated break and enter with intent – armed, robbery in company, assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear before a Childrens Court today (31 December 2025) where he was formally refused bail to reappear on Sunday 18 January 2025.

Incident 2:

About 10am yesterday (Tuesday 30 December 2025), police observed three mopeds travelling in convoy on Richmond Road, Woodcroft, with the riders allegedly riding in a dangerous manner.

Subsequent checks revealed one of the mopeds was reported stolen at 8am the same day from a home in Hurstville.

Police attempted to stop the mopeds, before the riders attempted to evade police and ran into Glendenning Reserve.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested after a short foot pursuit and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station.

An extensive search was conducted to locate the other two riders, however they could not be located.

The 17-year-old boy was charged with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, enter inclosed land not presc premises without lawful excuse and unlicensed for Class, Class C, R, LR or MR.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before a Childrens Court on Monday 19 January 2025.

Investigations under Operation Enduro are continuing.
