Teens Charged With Assault, Robbery in Inner Brisbane

Indooroopilly Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have charged two teenagers following investigations into an alleged attempted robbery in Milton on 31 March.

Around midday, two males riding e-scooters approached a 23-year-old woman along a walking track near the William Jolly Bridge.

The pair allegedly attempted to steal the woman's headphones, before verbally assaulting the woman and spitting at her near Lang Parade in Auchenflower.

The pair subsequently fled on the e-scooters in an unknown direction.

The woman was not physically injured during the incident.

The matter was reported to police around 1pm. Responding officers conducted patrols but were unable to locate the males.

Subsequent investigations identified a further 11 victims of similar alleged offending in Inner Brisbane between 31 March and 4 April.

On 7 April, police conducted a search warrant at a Garfield Road address in Woodridge and arrested three teenagers and located a flick knife

A 19-year-old Underwood teen was charged with nine counts of common assault, and one count each of robbery in company, attempted robbery in company, stealing, possess utensils, and possess category M weapon.

His police bail was refused, and he will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today, 8 April.

A 16-year-old Boronia Heights boy was charged with three counts of common assault, and one count each of robbery in company and stealing.

His police bail was refused, and he will appear in the Brisbane Children's Court today, 8 April.

A 16-year-old Acacia Ridge boy was charged with three counts of common assault and will appear in Brisbane Children's Court on 17 April.

Investigations remain ongoing, anyone with information that may assist is urged to contact police.

Indooroopilly CIB Senior Sergeant Brendan Blyth says offences of this nature are brazen and will not be tolerated by police.
