Port Macquarie Hastings Council is set to launch the latest temporary exhibition at the Port Macquarie Coach Terminal, featuring local artist Rosalyn Fuhrer.
The Paste-Up Gallery is a Cultural Development initiative to support and promote the diversity of our creative community by providing an alternate exhibition space in an unexpected location.
Local creatives and artistic groups were invited to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) to be involved in the Paste-Up Gallery, which provides an opportunity for creatives with little-to-no experience in exhibiting, to share their work. Rosalyn Fuhrer was selected at the successful artist.
Rosalyn is a self-taught artist who is known for her mark-making details. She predominantly uses acrylic paints on canvas. Rosalyn is inspired by a diverse range of subjects, drawing inspiration from the natural world.
Rosalyn responded to the theme 'Local Connection' and her body of work focuses on Harry's Lookout, which is well known for its stunning views.
"My favourite part about this area is the thin tract of rainforest bushland that creates a line, a buffer between nature and suburbia," Rosalyn said.
"I explore the link between these two things in the exhibition," she said.
This cultural initiative provides the community with the opportunity to connect with local artists and creatives as well as seeing spaces differently. The exhibition is free and accessible to everyone, making it an excellent opportunity for creatives to share their work and further grow their reputation.
