Theft of $24,000 bracelet in Grovedale

Police are investigating after a man fled with a $24, 000 bracelet in Grovedale earlier this week.

Investigators have been told the man attended at the Ainslie Avenue home on 17 October just after 9pm to view the bracelet after it was advertised for sale on Gumtree.

Once inside, the man engaged in conversation with the owner before he snatched the bracelet and ran out the door.

The man was last seen leaving the area in a utility with a tray at the back.

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released CCTV and images of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is perceived to Caucasian with a solid build, about 182cm tall and long blonde hair at the back and short at the sides.

Detectives have also released an image of the 8ct diamond tennis bracelet in yellow gold, which had 40 diamonds.

Anyone who recognises the man or knows the whereabouts of the bracelet is urged to come forward.

Investigators would also like to hear from anyone who has purchased or seen the bracelet being sold for well below its retail value through social media or online marketplace websites.
