Partnerships advancing American innovation, collaborations with foreign delegations, exploring opportunities to open more doors to STEM - this week, NSF Director Sethuraman Panchanathan fielded a packed schedule.
Director Panchanathan welcomed leaders from the first-ever ten NSF Engines to NSF. During their visit, the director heard from the NSF Engines teams on how they are working to expand the geography of innovation all across the country. These efforts will pave the way to creating good-paying jobs, increasing opportunities, and securing the nation's competitive edge in emerging technologies that will define the future.
The director also hosted Secretary Ravichandran of India's Ministry of Earth Sciences for discussions to explore opportunities for collaboration between the two agencies.
Earlier in the week, Director Panchanathan participated in a Q&A with Susan A. Martinis, Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign at the Association of American Universities Senior Research Officers Annual Meeting, speaking on NSF's commitment to cultivating a skilled workforce for the industries of the future.
