Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have arrested three people as part of their investigation into a fatal hit-run collision in West Wodonga yesterday, 9 July.
Emergency services were called to Melrose Drive following reports a car had crashed into a tree about 3.15pm.
The female driver and sole occupant, a 30-year-old Wangaratta woman, died at the scene.
It is believed another vehicle, a stolen Hyundai Kona, was driving in tandem with of Lexus sedan at the time of the crash and failed to stop and render assistance.
Officers located that vehicle today in Wodonga and arrested a 19-year-old Albury woman, 29-year-old Wangaratta man and 32-year-old Benalla man.
All three are in custody and will be interviewed.
It is believed the Kona was stolen from the Albury area on 9 July during an alleged armed robbery and carjacking.
The investigations remain ongoing.
