Organised Crime Squad detectives have charged a man after police seized three firearms, almost $75,000 cash and more than 10kg of prohibited drugs in Sydney's west yesterday.
Detectives from the State Crime Command's Organised Crime Squad established Strike Force Cripe to investigate a criminal syndicate involved in the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs across NSW.
As part of ongoing inquiries, Raptor Squad officers stopped a vehicle on Killinger Avenue, Liverpool, about 12.10pm yesterday (Thursday 29 December 2022), and spoke to the 22-year-old male driver.
During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police located more than 1kg of a white substance, believed to be cocaine, and a small quantity of a crystalline substance, believed to be methylamphetamine, and cash.
The man was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station.
A search warrant was later executed at a unit on Shepherd Street, Liverpool, where police located three firearms, ammunition, more than 3kg of methylamphetamine, more than 1.2kg of cocaine, 775g of heroin, more than 4.2kg of a brown crystallised substance, believed to be MDMA, and almost $75,000 cash.
The man has since been charged with 14 offences including:
- Supply large commercial quantity prohibited drug (three counts)
- Supply commercial quantity prohibited drug (two counts)
- Possess prohibited drug
- Possess unregistered firearms
- Possess unauthorised pistol (three counts)
- Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
- Acquire firearm part without authority
- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit; and
- Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
The Edensor Park man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court later today (Friday 30 December 2022).
Investigations under Strike Force Cripe are continuing.
