Three police officers assaulted; man charged - Ultimo

A man will face court today charged over allegedly assaulting three police officers outside a hotel in Sydney's CBD.

Just after 5am today (Sunday 7 June 2020), officers from Sydney City Police Area Command were called to a hotel on Thomas Street, Ultimo, following reports a man had become aggressive towards staff and other guests.

The 24-year-old man allegedly assaulted a responding male constable before pushing a female senior constable.

As he was being placed under arrest, the man allegedly resisted before punching the constable in the face and assaulting a male probationary constable.

The three officers did not require medical treatment.

The Seaforth man was taken to Day Station Police Station, where he was charged with three counts of assault police officer in the execution of duty, and resist arrest.

He was refused bail to appear via AVL at Parramatta Local Court today.
