Time to test out that new lure - Palmerston Ponds Restocked with Barra

NT Government

The Territory Labor Government have this week released 100 barramundi across a number of Palmerston lakes.

The initiative is part of the Territory Labor Governments continued plan to support recreational fishing, tourism and local businesses across the Territory, all while enhancing our liveability and local activities for families.

The barra, which were bred locally at the Darwin Aquaculture Centre average around 45cm in size, making them a perfect catch for experienced fishos, beginners or young kids.

All Palmerston lakes have a strict catch and release policy, and anglers are encouraged to familiarise themselves with how to carefully release fish back into the water.
