'Tis the season to be jolly at Carols by Kingston

Australian entertainer Tim Campbell will headline a star-studded evening to celebrate Christmas at this year's much-loved Carols by Kingston event at Bicentennial Park on Sunday 8 December.

Other names in the line-up include the Velvetone's Stephanie McCorkelle, super soprano Kate Amos, singer, dancer, actor and model CC Dewar, trumpeter Jack Howard, Jackson Kemelfield, Bernard Curry, Nina Ferro and Sammi Palinkas.

Stage sweetheart Rhonda Burchmore OAM will be the night's MC and Santa is sure to make an appearance.

Kingston Mayor Georgina Oxley said Carols by Kingston is a great chance for the community to get together with friends and family before the holidays and relax in the park to the sounds of Christmas cheer.

"This free, family-friendly community event has plenty on offer with fantastic performers, food vans, kids' rides, face-painting, market gift stalls and a spectacular fireworks finale," Cr Oxley said.

Visitors can help support local community groups by lining up for the Edithvale Fire Brigade's fundraising sausage sizzle or purchasing a $2 candle to support the Kingston Toy Library.

The full program is available on the City of Kingston website and an Auslan interpreter will be on stage during the event.

Carols by Kingston will be held from 6pm to 10pm on Sunday 8 December at Bicentennial Park, Thames Promenade Chelsea. The event is dog-free.

A limited number of front-row reserve seating spaces will be available at $15 each. They can be purchased online on Eventbrite, or in person from Council's customer services centres.
