Toole Time: Corey Re-commits To Australian Rugby

Rugby Australia and the ACT Brumbies are thrilled to announce winger Corey Toole has committed his future, re-signing until the end of the 2028 season.

Tickets to the Wallabies 2026 home Tests are available to purchase here.

Toole began his rugby journey as a Wagga Wagga junior before moving to Canberra and linking up with the ACT Brumbies Academy.

It was from there his pace and acceleration were noticed by the Australia Sevens program, who signed Toole ahead of the 2021/22 season where he finished as the World Series leading try-scorer (43 tries) to help Australia secure its historic first World Rugby Sevens Series title.

From there he was selected in teams for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and Sevens Rugby World Cup in Cape Town.

He re-joined the XV-man game in 2023, making his Super Rugby Pacific debut for the Brumbies that year - quickly earning a reputation as the fastest player in the competition over his first two years, while also getting a call up to the Australia A program.

He returned to the Sevens set up for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris before another stellar season for the Brumbies saw him named in the Wallabies 2025 British & Irish Lions squad.

His Wallabies debut came against South Africa in Cape Town later that year where he scored a trademark try with one of his touches of the ball - before going on to wear the gold jersey six times in his first Test season.

Wallaby number 992 and ACT Brumbies winger Corey Toole: "I'm incredibly excited to extend my time with the Brumbies and Rugby Australia. Canberra certainly felt like home since the day I arrived and there's nowhere else I'd rather be developing my game right now.

"Working alongside world-class coaches and playing with this group makes coming to work every day special.

"We have a driving ambition to deliver success for our loyal supporters in the ACT and I'm fully focused on contributing to that while continuing to push for higher honours in the gold jersey."

Rugby Australia's Director of High Performance, Peter Horne said: "Corey's re-commitment is a great result for Australian Rugby.

"His speed makes him a rare talent, who progressed through the Australian Rugby pathways, tasted World Series success, and represented Australia at the Olympics before transitioning into Super Rugby Pacific and the Wallabies.

"Retaining homegrown players like Corey is crucial for the depth and future success of our national programs as we build towards next year and beyond."

ACT Brumbies head coach Stephen Larkham said: "We're very pleased that Corey will be staying in the ACT with the Brumbies. His pace and skillset make him a genuine game-breaker for our side, while his character and personality around the group are a terrific example of what it means to be a Brumbies player.

"Retaining players who have come through our pathways system is a major priority for the club, and Corey is a great example of the opportunities available across the ACT and Southern NSW region.

"Corey has already shown enormous potential at Super Rugby level, and we're looking forward to seeing him continue to grow and evolve over the next two seasons."
