At the May Council Meeting, Councillors will receive a report on the Toose Road Landslip and works carried out by Council staff, and will also discuss the awarding of $28,104.84 in grants to 18 community groups.
Additionally, the Kempsey Dragon Boat Club is seeking approval to construct a shed at Riverside Park for the storage of their boats and equipment.
The Ordinary Meeting will be held in Council Chambers from 9am on Tuesday 16 May.

Status of the Toose Road Landslip
Councillors will be provided a report outlining the status of the Toose Road Landslip and works carried out by Council staff.
As businesses are still facing challenges with moving stock to the market and transporting goods, Council has funded a third independent geotechnical engineering firm to peer review the advice provided on repairing the slip and the short and long-term access routes.

Storage shed for Kempsey Dragon Boat Club
Kempsey Dragon Boat Club is seeking to construct a shed to store their boats and equipment at Riverside Park.
The club has satisfied key considerations such as complying with the Kempsey Local Environmental Plan.
Councillors will decide whether to grant development consent, subject to conditions.
Over $28,000 for community groups
In Round 2 of Council's Community Grants Program, 18 community groups are recommended to be awarded $28,104.84 in grants.
Funding was offered in the Mayoral, Sporting, Get Ready, and NAIDOC Week categories. Twenty five applications were received, with 18 successfully meeting the eligibility criteria.
If approved by Council, representatives from the organisations will be invited to a presentation in June 2023.

Council reported the progress made in the third quarter of the Integrated Planning and Reporting Documents for 2022-23 to the Council.

Proposed Mayor and Councillor fees
Councillors will consider whether to adopt the fees for Mayor and Councillors as determined by the Local Government Remuneration Tribunal.
The proposed fees payable to a Councillor for the 2023-24 financial year is $21,730, in accordance with section 248 of the Local Government Act.
The proposed fees payable to the Mayor for the 2023-24 financial year is $47,240, in accordance with section 249 of the Local Government Act.
Management Lease and Operation of Kempsey, Gladstone and South West Rocks swimming pools
Councillors will consider tenders received to run Kempsey, Gladstone and South West Rocks swimming pools. This will be discussed in a confidential session due to the commercial sensitivity of the tenders.
