Trade Office Desk for Café by Victorian Lake

Catalina

Lake Boga's famous aquatic playground is putting out the welcome mat for an experienced food and beverage operator - with the opportunity to run the Catalina Museum Café now on offer.

Swan Hill Rural City Council is calling for Expressions of Interest from an experienced café, food and beverage operator to lease and operate the Catalina Museum Café, located on the banks of beautiful Lake Boga and alongside the iconic Catalina Flying Boat Museum.

It is an opportunity to combine business with a lifestyle in one of the region's most distinctive tourism destinations.

Known as an aquatic playground, Lake Boga attracts locals and visitors enjoying boating, fishing, camping, swimming and the lake's relaxed holiday atmosphere. The nearby Catalina Flying Boat Museum is another major drawcard, telling the fascinating story of the RAAF's No. 1 Flying Boat Maintenance Unit, which operated at Lake Boga during World War II.

Swan Hill Rural City Council Mayor Councillor Stuart King said the opportunity presented an exciting prospect for the right operator.

"Imagine starting your working day beside the water, serving great coffee and food to locals, families, tourists and visitors exploring one of Australia's most unique aviation stories," Cr King said.

"The Catalina Museum Café is more than a café - it is an opportunity to become part of the Lake Boga community and help create a destination people want to linger at.

"We're looking for someone with the experience, energy and vision to make the most of this unique location.

"If you've been dreaming about running your own café or taking your existing food and beverage business somewhere new, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for."

The café is positioned to complement the museum and broader Lake Boga tourism experience, providing an opportunity for an operator to develop a welcoming food and beverage offering for both visitors and the local community.

Council is particularly interested in hearing from experienced operators who can bring fresh ideas and a strong customer focus to the venue.

Expressions of Interest close at 4pm Friday, 2 October 2026.
