Trapped man rescued from ute as Tumbarumba floods

Yesterday, NSW SES Swift Water Technicians successfully rescued a man from his ute after being trapped by floodwater in Tumbarumba.

NSW SES volunteers were out and about, sandbagging to help protect local businesses before the weather arrived.

When it did, heavy rain caused flash flooding, which damaged some local infrastructure and power cut to areas around the Tumbarumba Caravan Park.

Water levels are dropping back and expected to move downstream into the Tooma River and Upper Murray today. Water, power and mobile coverage has been restored to the town.

Extra NSW SES Teams from Albury, Wagga Wagga and The Rock are on their way to Tumbarumba to assess damage in the town today.
