TRC completes Kahler Road, Geham culvert renewal project

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) recently completed a culvert renewal project at Kahler Road, Geham, north of the New England Highway.

TRC Infrastructure Services Committee chair Cr Carol Taylor said a new, large concrete box culvert had replaced an old pipe culvert on Kahler Road between Bushell and Valewood roads.

"The culvert upgrade has greatly improved safety for all road users by reducing the risk of road degradation," Cr Taylor said.

"Kahler Road provides access to the New England Highway for rural properties with around 100 vehicles using the route daily. It also services school buses and agricultural machinery from the surrounding rural area.

"The project has also improved flood immunity for the locality, thanks to the larger capacity of the new culvert. The new 2.4m by 2.4m concrete box culvert has more than doubled the water carrying capacity of the previous pipe.
