Truffle Kerfuffle returning to Manjimup in 2023

  • Truffle Kerfuffle is set to return to Australia's South-West next year
  • 2023 and 2024 events are supported by the WA Government, through Tourism WA's Regional Events Program
  • The event will take place from 23-25 June 2023, in Manjimup

Truffles are back on the menu, with the return of the popular Truffle Kerfuffle festival to Manjimup in 2023.

The McGowan Government is supporting the 2023 and 2024 Truffle Kerfuffle events through Tourism Western Australia's Regional Events Program.

The last event held in 2021 attracted nearly 2,500 visitors to the region and generated more than $3 million in visitor spend.

Truffle enthusiasts are encouraged to save the date from 23-25 June 2023 to visit Manjimup and experience the smorgasbord of black truffles and other gourmet delicacies on offer.

Visitors can enjoy a range of experiences, including:

  • dinners, wine, and spirit tastings;
  • cooking master classes with top chefs;
  • truffle dog demonstrations; and
  • the chance to sniff out your own black truffles on dog-led truffle hunts.

Manjimup is the most prolific truffle-growing region in the Southern Hemisphere, producing about 85 per cent of all black truffles grown in Australia.

As stated by Tourism Minister Roger Cook:

"Truffle Kerfuffle is one of the highlights of Western Australia's gourmet tourism calendar - and I'm excited to see the foodie festival return to Manjimup next year.

"This wonderful event has gone from strength to strength since it began over a decade ago, bringing a huge number of visitors to our South-West to experience the gourmet delicacies of the region, as well as its natural and wondrous attractions.

"I encourage everyone to come and experience this local delicacy and other world-class local food and wine on offer as part of the Truffle Kerfuffle."

As stated by Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan:

"Truffle Kerfuffle is a fantastic regional event as it brings producers and consumers together face-to-face, which generates a strong appreciation of our primary industries from visitors, and drives greater understanding of all the work that goes into bringing gourmet produce to market.

"This event elevates the region's produce across the State, drawing visitors to the Southern Forests and creating business and job opportunities for the local community.

"The WA Government is committed to supporting regional events such as Truffle Kerfuffle through Tourism WA - and we recognise the important role such events play in boosting the local economy and highlighting the wonder of our regional areas."
