Trump Marks National Salvation Army Week

The White House

This week, our Nation commends the men and women who serve their fellow Americans through the impactful work of the Salvation Army. These volunteers embody the very best of the American spirit and enrich our national life through their compassion and care.

Since 1865, the Salvation Army has provided faith to the weary, meals to the hungry, shelter to the homeless, and a renewed sense of security and purpose to those rebuilding their lives after years of hardship and addiction. Their work is a living testament to our Nation's enduring traditions of generosity, goodwill, and volunteerism.

For 250 years, our Nation has been defined by an unyielding spirit of sacrifice and service that has always called ordinary Americans to do extraordinary things for one another. During National Salvation Army Week, we carry that proud mission forward and pledge to always be a Nation devoted to "Doing the Most Good."
