Twelve people have been charged following a high-visibility police operation targeting the theft of luxury motor vehicles and aggravated and break and enters across Sydney.
Officers attached to North West Metropolitan Region conducted Operation Nocturn between 7pm on Monday 31 October 2022 and 7am today (Wednesday 2 November 2022).
They were assisted by North West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad (RES), Operational Support Group (OSG), Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, Aviation Command, and the Dog Unit.
During the course of the operation, police stopped 268 vehicles, conducted 106 bail compliance checks, and charged 12 people for various offences.
Of note, about 10.20pm on Tuesday 1 November 2022, officers attended a home on Old Canterbury Road, Dulwich Hill, following inquiries into various alleged aggravated break and enter offences in Alexandria, Eveleigh, Earlwood, Sylvania Waters and Bellevue Hill, between 19 October 2022 and 24 October 2022.
An 18-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station, where he was charged with participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal
The man was refused bail and will appear at Newtown Local Court today (Wednesday 2 November 2022).
