Two men will face court charged after an alleged malicious damage and hit and run in the states Riverina Region.
About 2.30am today (Friday 21 November 2025), officers attached to Riverina Police District were notified after a man and woman allegedly attended a home in Glenfield Park and smashed a window.
It is alleged the man has punched the front window of the residence, causing the glass to shatter, before the man and woman left the scene on a motorbike.
The occupant of the home – a 53-year-old man – is alleged to have followed the motorbike in his vehicle towards Fernleigh Road, Ashmont.
Police will allege the driver of the car collided with the bike causing the two occupants to fall.
It is further alleged the driver then reversed before driving forward, running over the bike, and leaving the scene.
Police were called to Fernleigh Street where the two occupants were located.
The rider – a 22-year-old woman – was treated at the scene for critical injuries before being taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital before she was transferred to St George Hospital.
The pillion passenger – an 18-year-old man – sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene before he was arrested and taken to Waaga Wagga Police Station where he was charged with destroy or damage property and motor bike passenger no helmet / fitted / adjusted.
He was given conditional bail and will appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday 28 January 2026.
About 8.30am the same day, police attended a home in Glenfield Park and arrested a 53-year-old man.
He was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station and charged with negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm), cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle, fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm, not give particulars to injured person and not keep firearm safely – not pistol / prohibited firearm.
He was refused bail and will appear before Bail Division Court 5 tomorrow (Saturday 22 November 2025).
