Two people have died following a crash at Alfredtown, near Wagga Wagga.
About 4.20pm today (Sunday 30 August 2020), emergency services were called to the Sturt Highway, near Tumbarumba Road, approximately 14kms east of Wagga Wagga, after a truck and car collided.
The two occupants of the car – a man and woman - died at the scene. They are yet to be formally identified.
The truck driver wasn't injured but was taken to hospital to undergo mandatory blood tests.
Officers from Riverina Police District have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
