The new board members will serve three year terms
Two new members have been appointed to the Marine Management Organisation's board. Laura Dance and Terry Jones will commence three-year terms on 1 May 2026.
The appointments have been made in accordance with the Governance Code on Public Appointments published by the Cabinet Office. All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process.

Laura Dance
Laura Dance is Chief Operating Officer at the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, and was formerly Director of Corporate Services at British Antarctic Survey. She is a non-executive director at the Scottish Association for Marine Science and at Welsh Rowing..
Terry Jones
Terry Jones is currently Director General of the National Farmers' Union (NFU). He has previously held senior roles at the NFU, Provision Trade Federation and the Food & Drink Federation and was industry co-chair of the Food & Drink Sector Council. He is chair of NFU Commercial Holdings and a trustee of RABI, the farmers' charity.
