Detectives from the Missing Persons Squad have arrested two people today and located suspected human remains as part of their investigation into the suspicious disappearance of Doveton man Brendon Farrell.
A 30-year-old Hampton Park man and a 49-year-old Noble Park man were arrested this morning and are currently assisting police with enquiries.
A crime scene has been established at a Cyril Grove address in Noble Park where the remains have been located.
The Coroner and Major Crime Scene Unit specialists will attend at the address and examine the scene.
A post-mortem is expected to be conducted tomorrow morning.
Earlier this week police conducted a search of parkland in Cranbourne in an effort to try and locate Brendon.
The 32-year-old was last seen by a friend around 12.30pm on Monday, 31 May at his home address on Kidds Road in Doveton.
His disappearance was considered out of character and family members subsequently reported him missing to police on 2 June.
Police are led to believe some kind of altercation has taken place while Brendon has been at the Kidds Road address.
Detectives are still keen to speak to anyone who has information about the altercation at the Doveton property on 31 May or has knowledge of who was present at the time.
Police have released an image of Brendon in the hope that someone may have seen him in the Doveton area prior to his disappearance.
He also had no access to a vehicle and preferred to ride a bicycle to get around, however his bicycle is yet to be located.
