Two Men Injured, One Critically, in Marrickville Shooting

An investigation is underway after two men were injured following a public place shooting in Sydney's Inner West this afternoon.

About 1.50pm (Friday 7 July 2023), emergency services were called to a business on Marrickville Road, Marrickville, after reports shots had been fired.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command arrived a short time later, locating two men suffering gunshot wounds.

Both men were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to hospital for treatment.

One man is believed to be in a critical condition, while the other is believed to be in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established, which will be examined by specialist forensic officers.

Local detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting and will be assisted by specialist detectives as required.

Their inquiries will include whether two vehicle fires at Marrickville and Dulwich Hill are linked to the shooting.
