Two officers charged - Northern Region

Two serving police officers have been charged following an investigation into a 2020 incident on the Central Coast.

Officers from the Professional Standard Command established Strike Force Homburg to investigate an incident at a licensed premises on the Central Coast in December 2020.

Following extensive inquiries, two officers were issued court attendance notices yesterday (Tuesday 23 January 2024).

A 49-year-old male senior constable – attached to a command in the Northern region – has been charged with common assault, and a 37-year-old male sergeant – attached to a specialist command - with two counts of common assault.

They are due to appear at Gosford Local Court on Thursday 7 March 2024.

The employment status of both officers is under review.
