Two vehicle crash Tasman Highway in Orielton

Police and emergency services responded to a two vehicle crash on the Tasman Highway, near Black Charlies Opening, Orielton earlier this morning, Tasmania Police say.

A 33-year-old man from New South Wales was negotiating a series of bends when his white Toyota Camry sedan crossed into the other lane, and into the path of an unladen Mack fuel truck.

The truck was being driven by a 40-year-old man from Chigwell who was not injured.

As a result of the crash, the Toyota driver was trapped in the vehicle by his legs.  He was extracted from the vehicle and conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital, where he underwent treatment for his injuries.
