Uber driver charged with indecent assault, WA

Joondalup Detectives have charged a 28 year old man as a result of their investigation into an incident that occurred on Saturday 22 April 2017.

At around 2:15am, a woman in her thirties was collected by an Uber driver in Northbridge. During the journey it is alleged the driver stopped the vehicle and indecently assaulted the woman. The woman managed to get out of the vehicle and seek assistance. , WA Police say

The 28 year old man from Nollamara has been charged with:-

•Unlawful and Indecent Assault; and

•Deprivation of Liberty.

He is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court on Monday 17 July 2017.

Police have notified Uber management and the Department of Transport of the arrest.
