Ukrainian City Redesigned Presentation to Be Hosted by State Dept

On December 15, the State Department will host University of Virginia students, who will present their final products for the "Ukrainian Cities Redesigned" Diplomacy Lab project they undertook during the fall 2023 semester. Students from the University of Virginia's School of Architecture produced a plan for sustainable redevelopment of the Ukrainian city of Izium, which was destroyed by Russia's war of aggression.

Special Representative for Global Partnerships Dorothy S. McAuliffe and Acting Assistant Secretary for Oceans, Environment and Science Jennifer R. Littlejohn will host the event. Representatives from the Ukrainian Embassy will review the designs and make remarks.

The event is open to the press. The event will take place at the National Museum of American Diplomacy at the 21st Street entrance of the Harry S. Truman Building at 2 p.m. Please arrive at 1:45 p.m. for setup.
